Mission Statment
The raison detre of the Dichotic Dilemma Social Enterprise is to create global
transformation by engaging the world in a fundamental conversation about what it means to be human and thus create a world that works for everyone as best we can.
We believe, therefore, that Leadership is the fundamental cornerstone for achieving this aim and that Inclusive leadership can move the world forward in a positive way.
The world faces many challenges through Global warming, financial crisis's, war, poverty and other ills and how we overcome that is with effective and inclusive leadership around the world and at every level of society.
One of the key inspirations for the Social Enterprise and someone who was an effective leader was Martin Luther King Jr, who was one of the most influential people to lead African Americans in their struggle for civil rights in a viciously racist country.
A case study of Martin Luther King Jr in many ways is a total package of what Inclusive, effective and transformational leadership is.
Some key characteristics being but not limited to, effective and powerful communication skills, patience, empathy, care, temperance, foresight, insight and a great ability to see the bigger picture. This characterised by his iconic speech and statement that a human being should be judged by the content of their character and not the colour of their skin. Along with his dream that little black and white children will one day play together in an America that’s free and fair to all. The height of inclusive leadership and one can only imagine what kind of world we could create if all leaders in all sectors of society whether corporate, political, social perceived the world in such a profound way. Consequently, this is why this social enterprise was founded, to build on this legacy and take it around the world.
Therefore, we believe at The Dichotic Dilemma social Enterprise that although Martin Luther King was a unique man and his achievements were unique, the characteristics he had are not unique and can be fostered or taught to everyone especially those in the highest positions.
This in tandem with why the Social Enterprise is called The Dichotic Dilemma in the first place. The Dichotic Dilemma is a uniquely discovered philosophical position or construct by Raleigh Chiwuta author of the book The Dichotic Dilemma the fabric of life and founder of this organisation.
In essence, what The Dichotic Dilemma is, is a way and observational point of view of looking at reality and the social sphere of human existence. Positing that duality is a fundamental reality of existence, e.g. them and us, good and bad, love and hate and that this phenomenon permeates all of human existence
and leads to the social and existential issues we face. Such as racism, xenophobia, wars, corporate greed etc. Postulating, hence, that if people understand this fundamental phenomenon, and transcend it, it can
lead to better relationships and co existence on the planet.
This all originated from the author’s journey as someone who was born as a black African in a former white British colony where racial division existed, and latter political complexities lead to the economic and infrastructural decline of the country.
The author Raleigh Chiwuta went on a philosophical quest to understand his life
circumstances, place in the world as related to everyone else, especially the whites who seemed separate and superior to him and the leadership that governed over him. However, his observations were not just limited to his local region, his philosophical quest was global and existential.
Thus, The Dichotic Dilemma, the fabric of life was discovered and coined and has been a very effective model for the author to grow as a person, reconcile his prejudices and indignations whilst also discovering his own power as an inclusive leader. Thus, the mission is to spread this message to the world whilst also exploring the idea and notion of love as a practical and necessary tool for leadership and global transformation. Love is not just a soft word, it is a truly powerful utility that if harnessed and used properly, can do wondrous things.
Consequently, the organisation aims to carry out teaching programmes in schools, corporations, to politicians, the police, any organisation in general and really start a powerful conversation of transformation and inclusive leadership around the world.
Apart from The Dichotic Dilemma book itself, the organisation will also offer other titles by the author which enforce the message of humanity along with the teaching programme offered by the organisation.
Ultimately the organisation aims to be running courses around the world with trained practitioners who understand the theory of The Dichotic Dilemma.
Fundamentally for example, racism is an example of non inclusive leadership and we have dealt with and are still dealing with its effects today and will probably carry on into the future as the struggle against it goes on. Hence, why this Social Enterprise was established on the basis that Inclusive leadership will transform the world so that it works for everyone as best as we can humanly manage.
Furthermore, Hitler was a non inclusive leader and we saw what that did to the world. Hence, we really see it as a choice for individuals on a personal and global level, which side do you want to be on. However, we don’t see it as a choice, we see an opportunity to create one of the greatest conversations in the world. The future of humanity.
This conversation is about inclusiveness and humanity. We at The Dichotic Dilemma social enterprise assert that love is a space. A space to be inside of creation and a space to create. When that love is expanded as in this instance with inclusive leadership, what could be truly possible in the world?
This is what we stand for and aim to promulgate with our programmes.
When people think of love, they think of hugs and high fives which is all fine,
however when we think of love, we think of it at a deeper level. Its tungsten like
quality. A level that reflects our interconnectedness. The greater scope of existence.
Our oneness even and that being the platform to build on. The inclusive platform to build on.
